Pairs that are dealt in the game of blackjack as the initial hand have the option of being split by the player, but is this the best choice?

In the case that you are dealt two of these cards and you are not impressed with the current value of the hand, you may want to consider splitting up the pair.

Choosing to split the card can allow you have another hand; another chance at winning can therefore give you an advantage over the one hand of the dealer.

Many players aren’t aware, but cards that are split in blackjack and completed with the hand of a ten value card and an ace are only valued at twenty-one and not valued at blackjack. This decreases the amount that can be won and should be taken into account while making the decision to split and the bets.
